Fairfield County Hounds Leaders
LEANN ENOS
Leann is our FCHPC mentor and instructor, who runs all of our meetings and cheers us on to be our very best.
She wrote the following about FCHPC:
"Fairfield County Hounds Pony Club was probably the first Pony Club in the United States. It was started in the early 1930’s by Barbara Taylor, whom I had the very good fortune to have known when she was well into her 101st year.
I have been so fortunate to have had so many talented and dedicated FCHPC students throughout so many years. I am so proud of every Pony Club student that I have ever had. So many are still riding and two have now become veterinarians. Kayleigh Pollard, the certification examiner for the most recent D1 certification, is Kelly Pollard’s daughter. She first became my student when she was just seven years old. She is still riding and jumping her wonderful pony, Hi Fi, even while going to college to get her degree in nursing.
I also have so many fond memories of Charlotte Mason, Suzie Jager’s mom who was so dedicated to FCHPC for decades. She was always my greatest inspiration. Suzie and I took our students to many rallies together and Charlotte was always there watching and applauding everyone for trying their best and sometimes even for winning blue ribbons. Thank you Suzie and Kayleigh for being our terrific certification examiners. We have also been so lucky to have Kelly Pollard who has so graciously continued to be our FCHPC District Commissioner for so many years in a row. A monumental task!! Thanks to my wonderful husband, Randy, for being my “Mucker In Chief” and Bevin’s stalwart side walker and for always being there for me.
I am so proud of A, C, D, E and L. You all are always my inspiration to be a better teacher."
